Case Study No. 13: Planning permission granted for a house extension in Malvern Hills District

Following the receipt of unfavourable pre-application advice from Malvern Hills District Council, we were approached to work with the architect, Andrew Powell, to come up with a revised design for a large house extension.

Following a site meeting and discussions with the clients and the architect, we submitted a householder planning application to the Council, together with a required Ecological Assessment, Water Management Statement, drawings and forms.

We closely monitored the application, preparing additional evidence such as a Construction and Environmental Management Plan, as required, and responded to address officer queries.

The application was approved subject to conditions.

Without the help from Chris I am confident we would have got stuck in an endless cycle with the planning committee, but thanks to his extensive knowledge and professionalism we were able to find a design that works for us and complies with the limitations to development we had.
