Planning appeals
Have you been refused permission by the local authority? This need not be the end of your project. We can advise you on an alternative scheme, or on the prospects at appeal. If you decide to go down the appeal route we will prepare your statement of case, drawing upon Chris’ extensive appeals experience including as a consultant and working for local authorities.
Appeals are handled by an independent body called The Planning Inspectorate. They can be dealt with by Written Representations, a Hearing or a Public Inquiry. We will discuss with you the most appropriate option for your particular case, and will give you a clear indication of the costs and timescales.
Examples of appeals dealt with includes:
the conversion of a listed building to apartments;
the change of use of a shop to a hot food take-away;
schemes involving the use of ancillary or annexed accommodation; and
many other schemes involving residential and commercial development, or domestic extensions.
Maybe an appeal has been lodged on land close to you? We also have experience of preparing representations to The Planning Inspectorate, which we can submit on your behalf.
